The agreement was signed in Pécs on 2 November by Dr Erzsébet Kaczor, Public Affairs Director at Egis, on behalf of the company, and Prof. Dr András Fittler, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, on behalf of the university.
Under the agreement, Egis will offer professional internship opportunities to students and contribute to the teaching of the university course “The Pharmaceutical Industry from A to Z”. With the involvement of Egis experts, the course provides a comprehensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry, covering the entire value chain from research and development through active pharmaceutical ingredient and finished product manufacturing to quality assurance, regulatory affairs and sales. The programme also includes a factory visit, giving students first-hand experience of pharmaceutical industry processes.
The agreement with the University of Pécs marks another important step in Egis's commitment to education. In addition to practical training and educational cooperation, the partnership also creates opportunities to expand joint scientific activities. This will promote knowledge sharing between academia and industry and contribute to developing the next generation of pharmaceutical professionals in Hungary.
In recent years, Egis has consciously expanded its network of higher education partnerships, establishing close professional collaborations in Budapest with Semmelweis University, Budapest Metropolitan University, the Faculty of Science of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), and two faculties of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Outside the capital, the SZTE–Egis Department of Industrial Partnerships, jointly established with the University of Szeged, helps students deepen their knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.
Egis's commitment to education begins well before students enter university. Through various educational and talent development initiatives, the company encourages young people's interest in science and helps inspire more of them to pursue careers in science and engineering.
