Being aware of the imminent danger, and preparing for taking urgent actions, if necessary, Egis provided an around-the-clock contact line for the Ukrainian staff to help them staying safe or make their way to Hungary.

We accommodated those colleagues who fled to Hungary in Zamárdi, where Egis’ resort house had been prepared for their arrival. Since February,  Egis has been taking care of our Ukrainian colleagues and their loved ones: close to 100 people, grandmothers, wives, many children, and their pets have found a safe and comfortable shelter in Zamárdi, where all Egis colleagues and their families receive full board accommodation; health care, mental-psychological support (e.g. relaxation training and massage), child psychologist counselling, programs for children to relief stress, translation services, administrative assistance, English language learning opportunity and financial aid have also been provided.

Our Hungarian employees at all our sites joined together, their willingness to help and their sympathy was demonstrated by the number and volume of the items donated: indoor and outdoor toys, creative craft tools and supplies for children, feminine hygiene products, items of clothing etc. were collected and delivered to Zamárdi in seven cars.

Not only Egis Hungary, but also Egis Group’ subsidiaries in the neighbouring countries are offering help for colleagues, for their families and strangers who have been forced to leave Ukraine.

Since the outbreak of the war Egis has donated more than 120 000 boxes of medicines from its stocks in Ukraine in order to contribute to the continued supply of medicines in the country as much as possible. The value of the humanitarian aid made so far exceeds EUR 550 thousand (appr. UAH 17,4 million).
