With several years of marketing and sales experience in the pharma industry, Dr. István Hodász joined Egis in 2006 as Commercial Director. In 2009, he became CEO of Egis. Since his appointment, all our sites have been extended with new research facilities, a new manufacturing plant has been inaugurated, and we have several ongoing production-related investments in Hungary. Our product portfolio has been renewed – among others – with biological products and by adopting the latest technologies our API and finished product production has been placed on new foundations.

„The award is a great honour. It is to a large extent the recognition of the dedicated work of our 4400 colleagues based in 18 countries and the economic significance of Egis’ performance, as well. We keep our research activities as well as our active pharmaceutical ingredient and finished product production exclusively in Hungary.  Owing to our successful export activity, our products are available in 65 countries. It has been proven that even in economically difficult circumstances Egis stays a solid pillar and driving force of the Hungarian economy – said Dr. István Hodász.

The prestigious prize is awarded twice a year on the two major Hungarian national holidays (15th March and 23rd October) by the Minister of Finance. The aim of the award is to acknowledge those leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and legal entities, whose exemplary efforts and activities substantially contributed to the strengthening of the Hungarian economy.
